We have several families who have already been approved for a Thanksgiving box right here in our area!! How to make your own baby wipes and save $$$ doing so! All you need is a roll of paper towels (not the cheap kind, they only make a mess. Use Brawny Select a Size or Bounty if you prefer that), a bottle of tearless shampoo, a bottle of Baby Oil (I use the one with Vit E and Aloe) a 3 qt container w/ lid (or an empty container of Pampers Wipes 64 count) Cut the roll of paper towels in half (put 1/2 roll aside for later use) In a bowl, mix together 2 cups hot water, 2 tbsp shampoo and 2 tbsp baby oil. Pour the liquid mixture over the top of the paper towel roll. As the liquid soaks through, the moisture will loosen the cardboard center making it easy to pull out. If you get lucky, it will bring with it the end of the paper towel roll. If not, carefully pull on the wipes in the center to get the sequence going.Pull out the amount of paper towels (from the center) that are needed. Reseal after each use. ***If the wipes are not wet enough or the lid doesn't get put back on, just add more water. If the wipes are too moist, leave the lid off for a little while.*** If you make the purchase at Walmart: Brawny Select a Size (3 pk) $5 Baby Magic Tearfree shampoo $5 Baby Magic Baby Oil $5 Total investment $15 and it should last you for several months! 3 rolls of paper towels (6 rolls when cut in half) lasted me 3 months! |
